Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer

Anthony Kiendl was Executive Director and CEO of the MacKenzie Art Gallery from 2013 to 2020. The first public art gallery established in Saskatchewan, Canada, it is located the provincial capital, and the expansive Wascana Park, The MacKenzie collection comprises over 5000 works spanning 5000 years of world culture. Kiendl provided senior organizational leadership for this independent not-for-profit art museum, one of the longest-standing and important arts institutions in Western Canada with a notable history of programming and collecting contemporary Indigenous art.

Key accomplishments included establishing leading organizational transformation, re-branding, building $25 million operating endowment, and renovation of public engagement and front of house facilities. Under Kiendl’s leadership attendance increased significantly, as did membership and earned revenue.
